Plans Examiner Position
The Code Consulting Division of FSC, Inc. is seeking to fill a Plans Examiner position. We seek team players who are detail oriented, hard working, reliable and who want to learn. Project Engineer Position
As a Project Engineer you will be responsible for doing some electrical and mechanical design.
- Design and layout of electrical power and lighting systems within buildings.
- Design and layout of mechanical HVAC and plumbing systems.
Other responsibilities include writing specifications, reviewing shop drawings and submittals, performing cost estimates, code research and analysis, and writing technical reports.
Knowledge of AutoCAD is a must. Engineer in Training (EIT) (or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE)) is a plus but not a requirement.
Fire Protection Specialist/Engineer Position
The Fire Protection Division of FSC, Inc. is seeking to fill a Fire Protection Specialist/Engineer position. As Fire Protection Specialist/Engineer you will be responsible for design and production of contract and installation drawings. Main responsibilities include
performing hydraulic calculations for fire sprinkler systems for shop drawing submittals, utilizing software and tools; work with in-house fire protection, mechanical, electrical and plumbing design teams for piping layout coordination; analyze existing and new fire service loops and prepare hydraulic model calculations; coordinate with local authorities regarding required fire flows for projects; work with cross functional desing teams consisting of Architects, Civil utility engineers, Fire protection contractors and Local authorities to locate and size underground fire service lead-ins, site adaptation of prototype design and water flow analysis; perform job site surveys, punch lists and review submittals.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in fire protection, civil engineering, or related discipline with one (1) year experience in water flow modeling.
- NICET or NFPA certifications in Fire Sprinklers / Fire Alarm system design is a plus.
- Must be proficient in AutoCAD.
- Understanding of construction documents, ability to identify architectural, mechanical, structural, electrical and plumbing elements for coordination.
- Ability to prioritize tasks to get projects completed on schedule.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- Must be a team player with excellent communication skills.
